Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 3, 2026
Gokario ("Gokario," "we," "us," or "our") operates a voice-first platform that connects small and medium businesses, with a particular focus on India's SMBs and MSMEs, with verified experts who complete real-world tasks such as calling suppliers, verifying documents, digitizing records, and coordinating logistics (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices available to you, wherever in the world you access the Service.
By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Scope of This Policy
This Policy applies to everyone who visits our website, uses our voice or text intake system, signs up to work as an Expert, or otherwise interacts with the Service. Gokario is built India-first, for India's SMB and MSME owners, and reflects that in the languages we support and the tasks we're designed around. The Service is also intended to be accessible to visitors, experts, and business users anywhere, and this Policy is written to apply regardless of where you are located.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Task descriptions: what you tell us about the work you need done, typed or spoken.
- Voice recordings and transcripts: if you use voice intake, we capture your spoken audio and convert it to text using a third-party speech-recognition service, so we can understand and act on your request.
- Contact details: your phone number, and optionally your name and business name, collected during phone verification and job creation.
- Language preference: the interface language you select.
- Feedback: any notes, ratings, or completion feedback you provide once a job is finished.
Information from Experts
If you sign up to complete tasks on Gokario, we collect your name, phone number, a short description of your skills, and your availability status, so businesses can be matched with you.
Information collected automatically
Basic technical information such as browser type, device type, and general usage patterns, to keep the Service working correctly and to understand how it's used. We use a small number of essential cookies and browser local-storage entries (for example, to remember your selected language and, for administrators, to maintain a signed-in session). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
3. How We Use Information
- To understand your request and generate a structured job card, including an estimated scope and recommended price.
- To verify your phone number via a one-time password (OTP), so only you can act on your own job requests.
- To match your request with a verified, available Expert best suited to complete it.
- To allow your matched Expert to contact you to confirm details and complete the work.
- To send you status updates about your job, including optionally over WhatsApp if you opt in.
- To maintain a record of job activity for quality review, dispute resolution, and fraud prevention.
- To improve the accuracy of our voice understanding and job-pricing systems over time.
- To comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
5. Device Permissions
If you use voice intake, your browser will ask you to grant microphone access. We only access your microphone while you are actively speaking to the Service, never in the background, and audio is used solely to transcribe your request, not to identify you biometrically. You can decline microphone access and use the text input instead at any time; voice is never required to use the Service.
6. Data Retention
We retain job records, transcripts, and related data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, including quality review, dispute resolution, and legal compliance, after which it is deleted or anonymized.
7. Data Security
We restrict access to personal data to authorized systems and personnel only. Our database enforces row-level access controls so that only our application's authenticated backend, never the public internet, can read or write job records directly. Administrative access to job data is limited to a small allowlist of authorized personnel and protected by a signed session credential. While we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your information, subject to our legitimate need to retain certain records (for example, for legal or accounting purposes).
- Opt out of WhatsApp status updates at any time.
- Choose your preferred interface language at any time; this preference is stored locally in your browser and can be changed or cleared whenever you like.
9. Additional Rights for Users in the EEA, UK, and California
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), UK GDPR, or California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to:
- Confirm whether we process your personal data, and access a copy of it.
- Correct (rectify) inaccurate personal data.
- Erase your personal data, subject to legal exceptions.
- Restrict or object to certain processing of your personal data.
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
- Not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that produces a legal or similarly significant effect (Gokario's automated job-card and pricing suggestions are always reviewable before you approve them, and matching involves human review).
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
California residents specifically have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so no opt-out action is necessary for that purpose.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for use by business owners, working professionals, and adults seeking work as Experts. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18, or, in any event, under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
11. International Data Transfers
Because some of our service providers operate internationally, your information, including voice recordings and transcripts, may be processed on servers located outside the country you are accessing the Service from, including in the United States. We only work with providers that maintain appropriate contractual and technical safeguards for cross-border data handling.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our Service evolves. We will post the updated version here with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
13. Grievances and Contact
If you have questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or how your information is handled, you may reach out through the contact options available on this website.
14. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, without prejudice to any mandatory statutory rights you may have under the law of the country in which you reside.
